ERIE – Neosho County and Chanute officials will meet soon to discuss the 911 system.

County 911 Director Lori Nally reported on the planned meeting to discuss the city and county’s relationship in regard to the current system. Nally will join commission chair Gail Klaassen in meeting Chanute City Manager Jeff Cantrell and Chief of Police Raymond Hale.

The commission also met with property owners CD LaForge and Jim Chappell to discuss the position of superintendent for the Gibbons Levee District. Commissioners appointed LaForge to replace Roy Carter as Gibbons district superintendent, and also as superintendent of the Allen Levee District.

Commissioners approved a Neighborhood Revitalization Program application by Bradley Bohnenblust, Altamont, who intends to build a house at 11450 K-47.

Commissioners approved requests from Road and Bridge Director Mike Brown to buy $6,500 in parts for the rock crusher and two axles for up to $5,500.

Commissioners voted to combine the meeting that would fall on July 4 and the meeting July 11 into one meeting on July 9.
