Drug bust

Photo by Shanna Guiot/Tribune The Chanute Police Department and Neosho County SheriffÕs Office assisted the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Tuesday morning in a search warrant execution at Garfield and Beech. The house was occupied by four individuals, including resident Kevin Steeves, 39, who all were cuffed and held on the front porch as the search was completed. Steeves and Elizabeth Town, 22, were arrested at the scene and transported to Neosho County Jail. Neosho County attorney Linus Thuston said the warrant was a result of months of investigation by the KBI. Steeves was questioned and released. Town has been charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and is currently being held on a $2,500 cash or surety bond.
