Be aware of (876) phone scam
In a Thursday press release, the Chanute Police Department reported that a Chanute resident received a scam call from an 876 number this week. Public Safety Director Sam Budreau said that the release is part of an ongoing effort to alert citizens to potential harm. Chanute honors Babcock for commitment to athletic program

Higher gas prices hit business owners, residents
