The old Murray Hill Elementary school building officially reopened as Murray Hill Senior Apartments Friday. Work finished just shortly before the grand opening and open house that ran from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday. The Chanute Police Department recently received a report of another suspected scam. An elderly member of the community reported that a caller claimed to be from social security and asked for the person’s social security number. Coffeyville woman rolls car after blowout
Melinda Ann Carr, 54, of Coffeyville, was northbound on U.S. 169 Highway at 8 p.m. July 19, about a mile east of Humboldt, when her tire blew out, causing her vehicle to enter the east ditch, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.
