County approves burn ban

Nine minor fire calls on the Fourth; Allen County passes burn ban order
The Chanute Fire Department responded to nine fireworks-related calls July 4 and one the morning of July 5. TOPEKA – Drought conditions continue to intensify for Kansas which led Governor Sam Brownback to update the Drought Declaration for Kansas counties with an Executive Order 12-08.
