Philip Louis Rush, 70, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 ay Sand Springs, Okla.
He was born Dec. 26, 1941 in Chanute to Louis Allen and Juanita Marie Jones Rush.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a boiler room technician. He was affiliated with the Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and barbecuing.

Thomas Edward “Tom” Slater, 89, Chanute, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.
Tom was born on May 18, 1923 in Coffeyville, the son of Roy Whitcomb and Lucile Penn Slater. He attended schools in Faulkner, Kan.
He served his country in the United States Navy from January 1944 to November 1946.
Tom was united in marriage to Lois P. Morris on August 22, 1947 at Yates Center. She survives.

Thomas E. “Tom” Slater, 89, Chanute, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26 at the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Merlin Howard “Lucky” Ware, 84, a 62-year resident of Altoona, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Fredonia. He was born June 5, 1927, near Coyville, the son of Oliver and Viola Busby Ware. Merlin was a graduate of Coyville High School. John Ammons, 49, Fredonia, formerly of Chanute, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Fredonia Regional Hospital.
John was born on March 25, 1963 in Oregon, the son of Douglas and Mary Lilly Ammons. He moved to the Chanute area in 1987.
He worked as a car detailer for Merle Kelly Ford.
John is survived by two brothers, William and Warren; six nephews; and two nieces.

Frances Elizabeth Bewley Cook died Nov. 25, 2011 in Sacramento, Calif. at the age of 106. She was born Jan. 5, 1905 on a farm near Fall River.
