Audrey Lee “Linda” Thomas 1946-2011
Audrey Lee “Linda” Thomas, 65, Fredonia, formerly of Junction City, died Friday, July 8, 2011 at her home. She was born June 9, 1946 in Oxford, Miss., the daughter of Aubrey Brown and Gladys Christine Keel Warrick. She was a certified nursing assistant and also owned and operated an antique store.
On Oct. 13, 1992, Linda married Michael Wayne Thomas. He survives, of the home.
She was a member of the Covenant Promise Church.

Ellen Lythene Flottman, 76, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at her home in Columbia, Mo.
Ellen was born Oct. 2, 1934 in Neosho County near Chanute, to Ernest F. and Alta L. Williams Flottman. She attended Austin, a one-room school, for the first eight grades, then Chanute High School and Chanute Junior College.

Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Goetzinger, 72, Howard, formerly of Leon, El Dorado and Belleville, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 in the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. She was born Sept. 28, 1938 in Belleville, the daughter of Virgil James and Viola Anna Koester White. Bobbie was a licensed practical nurse for many years, retiring from the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado in 2000.

Bond violation returns Capps to custody
Delana Capps is back in custody after violating her bond conditions early this week.
She was found consuming and possessing alcohol.
After pleading no contest to aggravated arson last week, Capps was to remain out of custody on $150,000 bond until her scheduled sentencing Aug. 3 at 9:30 a.m.
She is scheduled to serve 69 months with the Department of Corrections for setting fire to the Rendezvous Club in early February.

A group of Hitchhikers made Chanute their destination over the weekend, but they weren’t the kind with their thumbs out on the side of the road.

Neosho County patient diagnosed with tuberculosis
The Neosho County Health Department has confirmed that an individual in Neosho County has been diagnosed with Tuberculosis Disease of the lungs. The individual has been put on medications and is currently being monitored by Neosho County Health Department.

Erie High School student Kody Tredway will compete in the 63rd Annual National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) next weekend.

Capps pleads no contest, will serve 69 months
Delana Capps, 27, pleaded no contest to aggravated arson Wednesday morning, nearly fire months from the day she set fire to the Rendezvous Club at 11 N. Evergreen.
Judge John E. Sanders from the 13th Judicial District accepted the plea agreement.
Capps will serve a full 69 months with the Department of Corrections.
