Carl E. Mitchner, Sr., 91, died on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, Chanute.
Carl was born in Bedford, Ind. on Jan. 19, 1922 the son of Will and Fern Thompson Mitchner. On August 30, 1950 he married Opal Gilman in Jaunita, Neb. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940 and was honorably discharged in 1945. In those years he was a member of the 150th Infantry Division during WWII.
