Ronald Lee Acuna Sr., “Sonny,” passed away at his home in Chanute on November 8, 2010.
Sonny was a very patriotic veteran. He served as a radio operator in WWII in the Aleutian Islands. During his time in the Army Air Corp as Staff Sgt. he was a golden gloves boxer. He also held an extra class license as a HAM operator.

Maxine Elizabeth Street Aitken, 93, died in Dodge City on Nov. 8, 2010. Maxine was the daughter of J.C. and Lena McCall Street. She was born in Shady Bend, Kan. on May 22, 1917. She married King Phillip Aitken, Jr., on May 22, 1937.
