Joan G. Volk, 85, longtime resident of the rural Erie area, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.
She was born April 11, 1927 at Hill Top, Ark., to Louis M. and Nancy Elizabeth Jones Newberry. When she was 11 years old her family moved to the rural Erie area to farm. She attended country schools and lived in rural Erie most of her life until moving to Prairie Mission.

Margaret was born on July 26, 1918 in Cherryvale, the daughter of Lewis and Ada May Adam Henry. She graduated from Chanute High School and Chastain School of Cosmetology in Coffeyville.
