Merle C. Tennis, 92, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Heritage Health Care Center, Chanute.
Merle was born August 17, 1920, in rural Wilson County, the son of Israel and Leona Mae Trapp Tennis. He graduated Chanute High School, with honors, in 1939.

Gene Lewis Uden died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 at Heritage Health Care in Chanute.
Gene was born Sept. 14, 1926 in Buffalo, to Ira and Zelpha Nantz Uden.
He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1944. In 1945, he moved to Orange County, Calif., and resided there until 1952.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954 and returned home after his discharge.

Jason Edward Arbeiter, 41, died Sept. 18, 2012 at the Iola Nursing Center.
Jason was the son of Elden and Judy Jordan Arbeiter.
He is survived by his mother, his brother, Sean McReynolds and his wife, Christie; and a niece, Kira McReynolds, all of Humboldt.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Caroll Fred “Tip” Tippie, 72, Humboldt, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family. Tip was born Dec. 31, 1939 in Elsmore, the son of Fred F. and Anna Emily Caroline Seastedt Tippie. He graduated from Elsmore High School.
