GOLF: Comets will have goals set high in 2011

Experience will equal higher expectations for the Chanute High School golf team in 2011.
The 2010 season ended this week at the Class 4A State Golf Tournament.
Chanute junior Mitchell Hale took eighth place against the state’s best and sophomore Cameron Wiltse finished 10th. Both earned a state medal.
In addition to Hale and Wiltse, the entire CHS team will return next year, too.

Tribune staff The season ended for the Chanute High School baseball team last Friday in the semifinals of the Girard Class 4A Sub-State tournament. Pittsburg nips Chanute for Rohde Trophy

It was the closest finish in the history of the award, but in the end, Pittsburg High School edged Chanute High School by a half point for the 2009-10 Martin Rohde Trophy.
Pittsburg ended up with a score of 97.5 and Chanute finished second with a score of 97.
