Comets middle of the pack at SEK tennis tourney
The Chanute girls tennis team finished in the middle of the pack, at what coach Mike De La Torre called “a very tough, close and intense SEK tournament” on Saturday in Parsons. The Comets finished in fourth place out of the seven SEK teams at the tournament, with 14 points. First half surge leads Humboldt
CHERRYVALE — A Humboldt fumble recovery by Jay Carpenter in the end zone late in the first half held up for a 21-16 win at Cherryvale Friday night.
Carpenter scored first and a Hayden Boring kick made it 7-0.

Reunited girls team second, boys fourth, at Pittsburg cross country
Still plagued with injuries, the Chanute varsity girls cross country team managed to suit up seven runners at a meet at the Four Oaks golf course in Pittsburg on Thursday.
