CHS softball team off to solid start

CHANUTE—Don Simmons called it the best start in six years.
The Chanute High School softball team improved to 4-2 with a big win over Iola on a windy Monday afternoon.
With some timely hitting and a solid outing on the mound, Chanute took game one 7-3. Iola earned a split by taking game two 5-4.

CHANUTE—The Chanute High School girls softball team let a sweep slip away.
With that, the Blue Comets settled for a split with Pittsburg on Thursday.
Pittsburg won game one 9-4, but Chanute took game two 11-6.

CHANUTE—The Chanute High School softball team began the 2010 season by sweeping Eureka on Tuesday night.
Chanute won game one 15-0 and then took game two 11-1.
