Simmons football camp is July 11-15
CHANUTE — The Don Simmons Summer Football Camp will be held July 11-15 at the Chanute Community Sports Complex. The camp is for all boys in grades 9-12 who plan to play football for the Chanute Blue Comets this fall. The cost is $30 and includes instruction, refreshments and a camp T-shirt. Short-handed Chanute Sharks fall to Coffeyville
COFFEYVILLE —The Chanute Sharks Swim Team, or at least part of them, traveled to Coffeyville on Wednesday for the third meet of the year. The Sharks were short-handed for the meet. CHANUTE — The SEK Sluggers made the area proud by winning the Kansas USSSA 14U State Championship. The Sluggers played last weekend in Topeka. The softball tournament began Friday night and continued through Sunday afternoon. The SEK Sluggers features girls from Chanute, Humboldt, Iola and Nevada (Mo.).
