Newton hired as NCCC women's basketball coach

CHS football camp is next week
Chanute High School Football Coach Don Simmons will hold his camp for high school players from Monday, July 12 to Friday, July 16. The camp will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. each morning at Chanute Community Sports Complex. The cost is $30 and includes instruction, refreshments and a camp T-shirt. Chanute Sharks sink Independence
Tribune staff The Chanute Sharks swim team defeated host Independence 416-310 on Wednesday night. The Sharks won seven of the 12 relay events and 42 of the 66 individual races. The younger swimmers, ages 7-12, had to shoulder more of the load for Chanute, as many of the older swimmers for Chanute were unavailable due to conflicts, coaches said.
