Tribune staff IOLA — The Neosho County Community College baseball team is now 5-5 on the season after a weekend split with Allen County. Allen County won game one 8-7 in eight innings. The Parsons boys and Independence girls punched tickets to state on Saturday night at the Parsons 4A Sub-State. Independence held on late and knocked off Labette County 30-28. In the boys title game, Parsons rolled over Columbus 73-53. In a 3A sub-state of interest, Fredonia's girls beat Caney at Neodesha to advance to state.

The Chanute Christian Academy basketball teams traveled to Ark City last week to participate in the KCAA 1A State Tournament. The CCA boys finished third.
