Isaac Clinton “Ike” Costin, 92, rural Altoona, Kansas, died Monday morning, Oct. 25, 2010, at Heritage Health Care in Chanute. He was born July 26, 1918, west of Derby, , the son of James Walter and Georgia Katherine Ruter Costin. Ike was a graduate of Derby High School and a lifelong farmer and rancher.
On March 27, 1938, Ike married Beryl Thoma. She survives, of the home.
He was a member of the Colfax Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Beryl, include three daughters, Marilyn Baker, Derby, Karen Costin, Altoona, Mary Hawkins, Haysville; a son, Joe Dean Costin, Altoona; a brother, Boyd Costin, rural Derby; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren..
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Colfax Cemetery, east and north of Tu Lakes in Neosho County. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Timmons Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial donations be made in Ike’s name with the Southern Care Hospice and may be sent to the funeral home, PO Box 168, Fredonia, KS, 66736.
