Larry Wayne Morris, 66, Elsmore, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at Via Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

Larry was born in Erie on July 6, 1944, the son of James O. and Josephine Dawson Morris. He graduated from Stark High School.

He was united in marriage to Helen Pergeson on March 31, 1967 in Miami, Okla. She survives, of the home.

Larry worked in construction, as a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Along with his wife Helen, he is survived by a daughter, Lucille Trester, Chanute; a granddaughter raised as a daughter, Deena Brooks, and her companion Sammy Stillwell, Chanute; two grandsons, Travis King and Brandon Morris, both of Chanute; and great-grandchildren, Ashton Brooks, Kylie Brooks, Ayden Brooks, Justin Brooks and Damon Brooks, all of Chanute, and Gage King, Iola; sisters, Lois Slater and her husband, Tom, Chanute, Edna Peck and her husband, Buford, Iola, Lorene Butler, Iola, and Betty Etchyson, Independence; two brothers, Jim Morris and his wife, Lois, of Texas and Kenny Morris and his wife, Nikki, of Missouri; a special brother-in-law, Ken Pergeson and his wife, Sue, Elsmore; and a special niece, Ashley Tank and her husband, Nick, Springfield, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Morris, and a sister, Mary Lou Holman.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials in his name may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses or to the ARF in LaHarpe.
