Gordon E. Goltry, 85, Erie, died Saturday, June 28, 2008.
He was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Chanute to Elmer and Jennie Walker Goltry. He graduated from Vilas High School in 1943.
He worked as a Carman for the Santa Fe Railroad and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda S. Johnson, Joplin, Mo.; two sons, Rodney Goltry, Hutchinson, and Ronald Goltry, Owensboro, Ky.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, George Goltry, Humboldt; and a sister, Betty Payne, Cloudland, Ga.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.
