Beulah Jean Jesseph Purcell, 97, Yates Center, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 in Burlington.

Beulah was born Nov. 14, 1912 in Argonia, the daughter of Albert and Amanda Dennis Jesseph. She graduated from Neosho Falls High School with the Class of 1931.

On Feb. 22, 1933 she married Leslie Purcell at Erie. They lived their lives 57 years near Piqua. Dude preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1990.

She worked several years at Woody’s in Yates Center and 15 years as a teller at Piqua State Bank.

Beulah is survived by one son, Leslie Purcell, Jr., Piqua; two daughters, Beverly Nittler, Council Grove, and Patricia Atkin, Yates Center; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Swartz, Winfield.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. today at Yates Center Presbyterian Church where Beulah had been a member since 1993. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Iola. Memorials may be made to the Yates Center Presbyterian Church or Friends for Life and sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783.
