Donald Earl “Don” Stanley, 73, Elsmore, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010.

Don was born Feb. 26, 1937, at Elsmore, the son of Earl and Blanche Cox Stanley. He was born and died a resident of Elsmore and was a fifth generation Allen Countian.

He served in the United States Army.

Don was a loving father and grandfather. He was a friend to all he met and served his community. He will be missed.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Ludlum and husband, Pete, Naples, Fla.; brother Gary Stanley and wife, Sharon, Aiken, S.C.; sister: Barbara Rees, Stanton, Texas; grandchildren, Brooke, Kayla, Shelby, Josh and John; great-granddaughter, Summer Rose

Cremation has taken place.

Graveside inurnment services will be Memorial Day weekend at the Elsmore Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, in charge of arrangements.
