Mary Rose Volmer, 81, of St. Paul, died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Frontenac.

She was born on July 17, 1929, in Chanute to Don and Thekla (Janssen) Beard. She and Michael J. Diskin were married July 19, 1948, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1974.

On Sept. 5, 1975, she and Cecil Volmer were married at St. Francis Catholic Church. He survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Terry Diskin, St. Paul; two daughters, Paula Crager, St. Paul, and Phyllis Hilburn, Pullman, Wash.; one brother, Jay Beard, Camarillo, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and an infant son, Anthony.

The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. The rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, at the church, where the family will receive friends immediately following. The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Religious Education Center.
