Marjorie LaVerne Cockrum, 77, rural Altoona, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1933, in Stroud, Okla., to J.C. and Bessie Logue.

On June 4, 1956, she married James E. Cockrum at Weatherford, Okla., she married James E. Cockrum.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children: Marsha Faye Heard, Wichita, Leon Edwin Cockrum, Hesston, and Lynda Jane Jensen, Valley Center; a sister, Dorothy Littleton, Blackwell, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings and two children, Lisa Jo Cockrum and Calvin James Cockrum.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Altoona Christian Church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Whitewater Cemetery in Whitewater.

A memorial has been established in Marjorie’s name with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 168, Fredonia, KS, 66736.
