LeRoy Albert Willis, 92, Chanute, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 at his home, surrounded by family.
LeRoy was born in Longton on Sept. 7, 1918, the son of Carter and Bertha Barker Willis. He graduated from Chanute High School in 1936 and from trade school in 1936.
He was united in marriage to Wilma Tredway on Nov. 27, 1943 in Whitewater. She survives, of the home.
He owned and operated Willis Oil and Gas until 1979.
Along with his wife, Wilma, he is survived by his children, Donna Cotton and her husband, Jason, Beth Willis, Mary Eaton, James Willis, Kathy Barnes and her husband, Larry, and Kenneth Willis; grandchildren, Braden and Alex Cotton, Shelby, Khila, Kayla, and Corbin DesJardin, Faron and Denver Willis, Joyce Barnes, Larry Barnes, Deanne Gann and adopted grandchildren Abby, Emily and Ashley Eagle; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22 at the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.
