Darlene J. Olsen, 78, Yates Center, died Monday, Dec. 27. 2010 at Neosho Regional Memorial Medical Center in Chanute.

Darlene was born Sept. 8, 1932 in rural Woodson County on the family farm, the daughter of Ralph Charles and Agnes Mary Kirchner Jacobsen. She attended Pleasant View Grade School in rural Woodson County. She graduated with the Class of 1950 from Yates Center High School.

She was united in marriage to Bill Olsen in 1965 in Omaha, Neb., they were later separated.

Darlene was the site manager for Senior Services of Coffeyville.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Heslop, Iolal and one granddaughter.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. today, Dec. 29 at Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center. Interment will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Omaha, Neb. The family suggests memorials be made to Friends for Life and left in care of Campbell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783.
