Viola Elnora Debler, 99, Chanute, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Viola was born in East St. Louis, Ill., on April 17, 1911, the daughter of Henry and Clara Groennert Storck. She attended Harmony schools.

She was united in marriage to Ralph Debler on Feb. 22, 1933 in Iola. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1995.

Viola was a homemaker.

She was a charter member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute.

Viola is survived by her son, Eugene Debler and his wife, Shirley, Chanute; two daughters, Elaine Wolford and her husband, Phil, and Virginia Mae Hurt and her husband, Don, all of Chanute; 13 grandchildren, Cindy Culbertson and her husband, George, Iola, Danny Debler and his wife, Robin, Chanute, Linda Reinhardt and her husband, Mark, Poland, Ohio, Keith Wolford and his wife, Pam, Gardner, Pam Sluder and her husband, Ron, Rantoil, Rod Wolford and his wife, Lisa, Eau Claire, Wis., Susan Cathers and her husband, Brian, San Diego, Calif., Nancy Hurt, Sedalia, Mo., Lonna Grewing and her husband, Clay, Kincaid, Kirstie Marten and her husband, Steve, Arkansas City, Judy Hurt, Nevada, Mo., Bob Debler and his wife, Rene, Humboldt, and Randy Debler and his wife, Erin, Alma; 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Omer Storck and his wife, Jodie, Tulsa, Okla., and Junior Leon Storck and his wife, Joan, Derby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph, a son, Robert L. Debler, a sister, Ella Ranabargar, and three brothers, Harold, Leroy and Cecil.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6 at the Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church and may be left with the funeral home.
