Mary Frances King, 72, Yates Center, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011 in Wichita.

Mary was born May 24, 1938 in Wichita, the daughter of Florian Anthony and Dorothy Frances Pauly Leis. She moved with her family from Wichita to Yates Center in 1947. Mary attended Durand Elementary and graduated from Yates Center High School.

After graduation she worked for the Yates Center Bank until her marriage. Mary was united in marriage to Zeno Bernard King on August 20, 1960 in Yates Center. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2007.

She moved back to Yates Center in 1975 where she remained until her death.

Mary is survived by sons, Mark King, Gilbert, Ariz., Gerald King, Mesa, Ariz., Charles King, Yates Center, Martin King, Italy (U.S. Air Force), Andrew King, Yates Center, Kerry King, Yates Center; daughters, Rosamary Gilligan, Savonburg, Carmen Scott, of Arizona, Janell Crabtree, Gilbert, Ariz., and Theresa Hurt, Fall River; 37 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, John Leis, Wendel Leis, and Steven Leis, all of Yates Center, Victor Leis, Paola, and seven sisters, Jean Temming, Wichita, Kathleen Richenberger, Andale, Terry Henkle, Burlington, Colo., Virginia Biggs, Lenexa, Cyrilla Cooper, Chanute, Dorthy Arlene Ling, Leavenworth, Mercedes Bienoff, Greensboro, N.C.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7 at the United Methodist Church in Yates Center. The family will gather to greet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church. The family suggests memorials be made to Gideons International or the Pastor Victors Missions to Guatemala and sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783.
