Mary Louise McFarland, 88, Thayer, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at the Heritage Health Care Center in Chanute.

Mary was born in Cabool, Mo., on April 3, 1922, the daughter of Calvin Damon and Charlotte Eldora Welch Graham.

Mary was united in marriage to Martin McFarland on Feb. 13, 1943 in Iola. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2007.

She was a homemaker.

Mary is survived by three sons, Gary McFarland. Springdale, Ark., Don McFarland and his wife, Sharon, Carterville, Mo., and John McFarland and his wife, Sun, Chanute; four granddaughters; two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martin, a baby son, twin granddaughters, and a grandson.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17 at the Thayer Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Thayer Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 45 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Memorials in her name may be made to the American Heart Association and may be left with the funeral home.
