Doris Jeanne Love, 75, Chanute, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at her home in Chanute.

Doris was born in Kansas City, Kan. on August 31, 1935, the daughter of Harvey Joseph and Martha A. Wilmot Johnson. She attended Richmond High School in Richmond, Mo.

Doris was united in marriage to Wallace Love on Sept. 16, 1950 in Richmond. After 53 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on September 29, 2003.

She worked at Neosho Paper Products for 10 years, then at Birdview Satellite until they closed.

She was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 170, and First Christian Church of Valley Center.

She was blessed with three surviving children, Wallace Love Jr., Wanda Kelsey and Harvey Love, all of Chanute; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles “Butch” Wilmot, Chanute.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Raymond Love.

Cremation has taken place.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute.

Memorials in her name may be made to Horizon Hospice and may be left with the funeral home.
