Billy W. “Bill” DeNoon Sr., 67, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at his home following a brief illness.

He was born April 22, 1941, in rural Gardner to Melvin F. and Dorothy D. Strickland DeNoon. He spent his childhood in the Gardner and Olathe communities, graduating from Olathe North High School in 1959.

He became a skilled mason and craftsman and made his living in this trade.

He married Donna M. Keenan on April 22, 1961, in Chanute. They recently celebrated 47 years of marriage. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Andrea DeNoon, Frank and Lori DeNoon and Billy Jr. and Lisa DeNoon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue Ellen and Ray Delgado, Lynn and Bob Kent and Teresa and Joe Troutner; 20 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three sisters and their families, Ruth Davis, Fran Clarensau and Helen Lockey.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Wayne DeNoon; and a grandson, Kevin Craig DeNoon.

Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Chanute, under the direction of Kansas City Funeral Directors, Kansas City, Kan.
