Lena Margaret Hansen Blanchard, 79, Pittsburg, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Cornerstone Village, Pittsburg.

She was born July 20, 1928, in Chanute to Charles William and Opal Marie Phillips Hansen. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1945.

On Jan. 13, 1945, she married Charles C. Blanchard at Iola. He died Jan. 1, 2004.

She worked as a nurse for more than 25 years at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Eugene Blanchard, Cherryvale, and Patrick Lee Blanchard, Shasta Lake, Calif.; a daughter, Peggy Elaine Howard, Pittsburg; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Village Chapel. Graveside memorial service will be 3 p.m. Monday at the Elmwood Cemetery in Chanute. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Village Chapel.
