Herbert Eugene Huser, 80, Fredonia, died Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.
He was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Neodesha to Bernard and Beatrice Ellis Huser. He graduated from Elk City High School in 1946.
He married Ethel M. Roth on Aug. 28, 1948, at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Independence. She survives.
He was a lifetime farmer and rancher in the Fredonia area.
Other survivors include five sons, David Huser, Cherryvale, Dan Huser, Garden City, and Steve, Mark and Roger Huser, all of Fredonia; four daughters, Rosanna Shue, Topeka, Geralyn Krause, Waverly, Myra Huser, Bentonville, Ark., and Kathy McVey, Fredonia; two sisters, Mary Hancock and Patricia Denny, both of Webb City, Mo.; a brother, Bob Huser; 28 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, a sister and a brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fredonia. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fredonia under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home, Fredonia.
Contributions to the Seminarians/Retired Priests or the Ronald McDonald House may be left with the funeral home.
