Jason was a welder and pipefitter by trade, currently employed by B.C. Steel in Yates Center.
Survivors, in addition to his wife common-law wife, Amanda DeWeese, include his mother, Brenda Ellis, Coffeyville; his father, Sam Claibourn, Fredonia; his daughter, Skyler Ann Claibourn, Yates Center; his grandmothers, Anna Lour, Neodesha, Nellie Claibourn, Fredonia; a brother, Jarrod Claibourn, Coyville; a sister, Amy Jacot, South Coffeyville, Okla., a stepsister, Kimberly Ellis, Independence; Amanda’s children, Chandler, Tyler, Justin and Emerald, Coyville.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5 at Cornerstone Christian Church. Inurnment will follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery.
