Esther Christine Vick, 79, Chanute, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.

Esther was born in Thief River Falls, Minn., on Feb. 25, 1932 the daughter of Henry and Martha Mikkelson Hasby.

She was a homemaker.

Esther is survived by two sons, Samuel Wasley, Hartford, Wis., and Steven Wasley and wife, Patty, Thief River Falls, Minn.; three daughters, Valerie Raff and husband, Jack, Hubertus, Wis., Wanda Roth and husband, Tim, Maplewood, Minn., and Jodi Shrum and husband, Mason, Chanute; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Wasley; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donnie Hasby, Hartford, Wis., and Joe Hasby, of Thief River Falls, Minn.; and four sisters, Joyce Hasby, St. Hilaire, Minn., Judy Cameron, Red Lake Falls, Minn., Shirley Mauer, Staples, Minn., and Karen Flaten of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Raymond Wasley; a daughter Kaylene Jeka; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Wasley.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 25 in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute.
