Pete was born in Buffalo on Feb. 24, 1927 the son of John William and Mabel Alberta Dryden Peters.
He attended the Chanute grade schools and high school.
Pete served in the U.S. Navy in WW II.
He was owner and operator of Peters Lumber Company.
William Keith “Pete” Peters was united in marriage to Betty Louise Stone on April 21, 1945 at Iola. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Tom Peters, McPherson; his sister, Faith Yvonne Penner, Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson.
Graveside service will be held at McPherson Cemetery at 3 p.m. Friday, April 1. Military honors will be presented by members of the American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715, both of McPherson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pete’s great-grandsons’ education fund.
