Kathy Sprague, 56, Chanute, died Sunday April 3, 2011 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Kathy Lynn Sprague was born March 6, 1955 at Chanute, the daughter of Robert Dale and Oletha Roylynn Shrum Petty. She attended Chanute schools, graduating from Chanute High School in 1973. She attended Brown Mackie Business College in Salina and later attended and graduated from Independence Community College.

On April 4, 1976 at Chanute, she was united in marriage to Edward E. Sprague. He survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include two sons, James Douglas Petty, of Santa Fe, N.M., Edward E. Sprague, Jr., Chanute; two daughters, Tammy Rahe and Tiffany Sprague, both of Chanute; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Petty, Eucha, Okla., Warren Petty, Gas, and Leon Cannon, Independence; five sisters, Connie McMormick, Iola, Sherry Moore, Coffeyville, Becky Fine and Lisa Meyers, both of Independence, and Virginia Jordan, Spring Hill; her step-mother who raised her, Sylvia Petty Chanute.

She was preceded by her father, her sister Debra Hockett and a grandson Justin James Petty.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Friends may call to register at the funeral home at service time.
