Dolores M. “Dee” McCauley, 94, St. Paul, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.

She was born on August 12, 1916 at St. Paul to Charlie and Mary Linden Nunnink. She grew up at St. Paul and attended St. Paul schools, graduating from St. Francis High School in 1935.

She moved to Elyria, Ohio and later to Decatur, Ind., where she lived until she returned to St. Paul in 1952. She and H.R. “Bud” McCauley were married on March 27, 1937 at New York. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1999.

She was a homemaker and worked at Singer Sewing Centers, Avon Cosmetics, Parsons Stockyards as a cook and at Carson-Wall Funeral Homes in her retirement as an evening attendant.

She enjoyed going to dances and dancing. She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church at St. Paul and the Daughters of Isabella.

She is survived by two sons, Charles McCauley and his wife, Fran, Overland Park, and Gregory McCauley and his wife, Phyllis, Arizona; two daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Scott and her husband, Jim, Dennis, and Mary Pat Mann, Coffeyville; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Schmitz, of North Port, Fla.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Billie Joe McCauley in 1977, a great grandson, Luke Lundy, three brothers, and two sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 20 at the St. Francis Catholic Church at St. Paul. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery. The Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. this evening at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in St. Paul with visitation following the rosary. The Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to the Prairie Mission Retirement Village at St. Paul and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home 403 Main St., St. Paul, KS 66771.
