Robert Bruce McPherson, 80, rural Altoona, died Friday, April 22, 2011. He was born Jan. 18, 1931 in Fredonia, the son of Silas Oliver and Jennie Garner McPherson. He was a 1949 graduate of Fredonia High School. Robert served in the United States Navy, 1948-1950.

On Feb. 16, 1963 in Wichita, Robert married Eileen Nitschke. She survives. of the home.

Robert held several jobs, including quality inspector for Cessna Aircraft, fleet and sales leasing manager for Lincoln-Mercury.

Additional survivors are four children, Tracy Howard, Independence, Mo., Robert McPherson, Jr., Arvada, Colo., Todd McPherson, Altoona, Troy McPherson, Lake Elsinore, Calif.; two sisters, Crystal Jump. Parsons, Doris Weaver, Bella Vista, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
