Patricia Brown Becker, 66, Humboldt, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, after a brief illness.

Born on Jan. 24, 1945, in Tacoma, Wash., to Charles and Lucille Golba Brown of Mildred, Kan., Pat grew up in Mildred graduating from Moran High School, Iola Junior College and Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. After teaching she worked at her husband’s business, Chanute Iron and Supply, and helped start the hospice program for the Neosho Memorial Hospital in Chanute.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Michael C. Becker, Humboldt.

Survivors include her son, Michael D. Becker, Mildred; mother, Lucille Brown, Higginsville, Mo.; brother, Bob Brown, Higginsville; and sister, Sandy Cormack, Lenexa.

The parish rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 29 followed by the mass at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Mildred.

Memorials are suggested to Horizon Hospice, St. John’s Catholic Church or Pets For Life, Inc., and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola.
