Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Church of Christ. Inurnment will be at a later date at Kingman. Friends may call to register at service time. Cremation is under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel of Chanute.
Dennis Lee Dye was born Dec. 5, 1947 at Kingman, the son of Clarence and Glessie Walters Dye. He attended and graduated from high school in Aurora, Colo., in 1965.
On Sept. 8, 1967 he joined the United States Army. He served as a paratrooper in the 173rd Airborne Division.
He was a master electrician, working for several companies in Colorado and Kansas.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Casey Dye, Petrolia; a daughter, Desiree Dye, Emporia; two grandchildren; his mother, Glessie Jones, Chanute; and a brother, Larry Dye, Chanute.
