Eleanor was born in rural Allen Country on Feb. 11, 1934, the daughter of Roy and Gladys Wright Riley. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1952.
Eleanor worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for several years as an operator in Humboldt. She spent most of her life as a homemaker.
She was a member of the Humboldt United Methodist Church.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Howard Russell, of the home; one son, David Russell, Chanute; one daughter, Susan and husband Pat Ellis, Humboldt; one grandson, Riley Ellis; and one brother, Dennis Riley, Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 6 at United Methodist Church in Humboldt. There will be a private family burial following the service.
She will be in-State on Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel.
Memorials in her name may be made to the Humboldt United Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home.
