He was born August 29, 1963, in Garden City, Mich., to Adrian Dale and Helen Schoenhofer Coomes. He moved with his family to St. Paul where he graduated from St. Paul High School in 1981.
Scott worked in construction for several years then later worked at Industrial Crating in St. Paul. Most recently he was employed with O’Brien Rock Company.
He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, sports and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member and former president of the Osage Hills Country Club.
He and Diane Gouvion were married on May 27, 1988, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. She survives. of the home.
Also surviving are two sons, Jason Coomes, Pittsburg, Tyler Coomes, of the home; one daughter, Katie Coomes, of the home; parents, Dale and Helen Coomes, St. Paul; four brothers, Damien Coomes and his wife, Alice, St. Paul; Dale Coomes and his wife, Bernadette, Girard, David Coomes, Austin, Texas; Jay Coomes and his fiancée, Linda Padgett, Denver, Colo.; one sister, Vicki Hammett and her husband, Roger, Nixa, Mo.; in-laws, Charles and Mary Jane Gouvion, St. Paul.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. The Rosary was at 7 p.m. Monday at the Church, followed by visitation.
