She was born Feb. 11, 1941 at Erie, a daughter of Silas and Fleeta Hickman McCrary. She lived her life in the house she was born and raised in. She worked cleaning houses and businesses around Erie.
In May 1962 she and Ward L. McCoy were united in marriage at Miami, Okla. They later divorced and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2006.
She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She also enjoyed home improvement projects, garage sales, collecting jewelry, working puzzles and bike riding. In past years she enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include three sons, Ward McCoy, Erie, Steve Mc-Coy, Chanute, Mike McCoy, and his wife, Marcia, Galesburg; one daughter, Jennifer Harmon and her husband, Bill, St. Paul; two grandchildren, Sydney and Cassidy McCoy, Galesburg.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Carrie Skoloda; an infant daughter, Bobbie Jo Simons, and a son, Robert Simons.
McCoy will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 Thursday evening at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Erie, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O.
