Richy Barriger, 38, Hays, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Richy was born at Rawlins, Wyo., on Feb. 21, 1973, the son of Richard Allen Barriger, Sr., and Kathy Hecht Graves.

He loved spending time with his children and family. He also loved fishing, listening to music, hunting and the outdoors.

Richy is survived by two sons, Christian Barriger, Holcomb, and Shawn Barriger, Tacoma, Wash.; four daughters, Nichelle Barriger, Morgan Town, W.V., Rochelle Barriger, Little Rock, Ark., Ashley Barriger, Tacoma, Wash., and Alexa Barriger, Hays; his parents, Rick Barriger, Iuka, and Kathy Graves, Moscow, Idaho; one sister, Sabrina Koster, Holcomb; four brothers, Jason Barriger, Pratt, Aaron Barriger, Renton, Wash., Weslie Graves, Shelton, Wash., and Dustin Graves, Shelton, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louise Hecht, John Kenneth Barriger, and Martha Ellen Barriger.

Funeral was 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 31 at First United Methodist Church in Chanute. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family received friends Monday evening at the funeral home.
