Ethel Lucille Tredway 1919-2011

Ethel Lucille Tredway, 91, Chanute, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at her residence.

Ethel was born at Walnut on Oct. 23, 1919, the daughter of Noble B. and Viola M. Critcher Puckett. She graduated from Walnut High School in 1937. She married Verle A. Tredway in Parsons on April 16, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1982.

Ethel enjoyed braiding rugs and making costumes for her grandchildren. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandchildren.

She was survived by three grandchildren, Janet Ogden and husband, Jim, Erie, Ruth Ann DuFrain and husband, Rick, Chanute, and Patricia Brown and husband, Jeff, Chanute; seven great-grandchildren; Kristan Goeringer and husband, Dave, Chanute, Cody Ogden, Blair, Betsy Ogden, Erie, Amanda DuFrain, Wichita, Kayla Almond and husband, Tim, Bel Aire, and Tyrae and Mikeal Brown, Chanute; two brothers, Ernest Puckett and wife, Helen Puckett, Girard, Richard Puckett and wife,, Melanie, Coarsegold, Calif.; one sister, Luella Kennedy and husband, Fred, San Antonio, Texas; and one son-in-law, Bill Boaz and wife, Irene, Chanute.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Betty L. Boaz, one granddaughter Susan Dian Boaz and one brother, Ralph Leroy Puckett.

Funeral will 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas and may be left with the funeral home.
