He was united in marriage to Elsie Mae Fraser on Nov. 9, 1987. She survives, of the home. Charlie was an electrical worker for the City of Iola until his retirement.
Along with his wife, Elsie, he is survived by his children, Debbie Thompson, Steve Thompson; stepchildren, Ralph Romig, Houston, Texas, Phyllis Zorn, Enid, Okla., and Karen Smith, Ozark, Mo.: six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Edward Thompson, Apple Valley, Calif.; and two sisters, Sylvia Wools, Moran, and Myrtle Mae Sharp, Annandale, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today, June 1 at the Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel in Humboldt. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mildred.
The family received friends on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Humboldt.
Memorials in his name may be made to the City of Iola Park Departments or the Humboldt Museum and may be left with the funeral home.
