Pat was born at Wichita on August 30, 1923, the daughter of Clifton W. and Ola Mary Smith Vandersall. She graduated from Phillips University in 1946 with a degree in Bible Studies and Christian Education.
She was united in marriage to Richard D. Crowl in Chanute on Sept. 16, 1947. They later divorced.
She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Chanute and was the director of programming, choir member, and elder. She volunteered for many organizations in Chanute including RSVP, Chamber of Commerce, Safari Museum, Operation Soupline, the CROP Walk, Relay for Life and the Chanute Senior Citizens Center. Pat was named Citizen of the Year in 1998. She participated in Chanute Community Theatre, Holly Study Club and St. Cecilia Music Club.
Pat worked for Penwell-Gabel Funeral Homes in Chanute. She was also the secretary for the Presbyterian Church in Chanute and Broadway Christian Church in Wichita.
Patricia is survived by one son, Mark Crowl and his wife, Cindy, Chanute; and two grandchildren, Zachary Crowl and Janae Crowl, Chanute.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a cousin, Betty Lehnus.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today, June 9 at First Christian Church in Chanute. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to the First Christian Church in Chanute and may be left with the funeral home.
