Funeral services for former Shamrock resident, Claney Willey, were held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 in the Shamrock First Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Stroud City Cemetery at Stroud, Okla. Memorial contributions may be sent to: Animal Aide of Tulsa - 3307 E. 15th Street - Tulsa, OK 74112.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home, Drumright, Okla.

Claney Willey was born in Iron Post, Okla., on April 25, 1925 to the late John Jackson and Mattie Marion Smallwood Smith. She died in Sand Springs, Okla., on August 10 at the age of 86 years. Claney was raised & educated in the Bristow & Stroud areas. On June 13, 1941 she married Alvin Westley Willey in Stroud, Okla. Due to her failing health, she moved from her home in Shamrock to Sand Springs two years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, a son John Willey, two daughters, Helen Jo Linebaugh and Judy Lynn Fox.

Survivors include her children, Al Willey, Owasso, Okla.; Arles Willey, Chanute, Roy Willey, Hazel Willey, Sand Springs; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.
