Elliott Lee Hosack, 58, of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Elliott was born on August 16, 1950 in Chanute, the son of Robert E. and Welthalee (Lasater) Hosack. Elliott had valiantly waged a lifetime battle with cerebral palsy. He had resided at the Creative Community Living’s group home in El Dorado since 1997.

Elliott enjoyed sitting outside on the patio, greeting people at the front door, and playing catch with the staff at CCL. He enjoyed having the nicknames “Elli” and “Old Man.”

He is survived by a brother, Robert Hosack of Chanute; a nephew, Bobby Hosack, also of Chanute; and the CCL family that he resided with for over 11 years, especially Korina Deal, who could always make him laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.

Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
